Diyas Giveaway

A diya is traditionally made out of clay and used as a lamp. The lighting of the diya symbolizes the supremacy and consequence of brightness over darkness. Visitors to this event will receive a complimentary souvenir in the shape of a lit diya.

The souvenir itself will also be used to collect stamps throughout the event and a fully stamped diya will qualify the festival visitor a ballot to the LUCKY DRAW.

Dance, Delight, Dhamaka

DDD is a dance competition that combines the excitement of reality TV shows such as Canada’s Got Talent and to showcase South Asian culture that audience of all ethnic backgrounds can appreciate.

Dance schools and studios from the South Asian community will be invited to participate in this competition. 

The winning team is selected partially by a celebrity judging panel, the winning team will receive a cash prize and a special souvenir. 

Rangoli of Bramalea

Rangoli is a folk art from India in which patterns are created on the floor in living rooms or courtyards using materials such as colored rice, dry flour, colored sand or flower petals. In addition to decorative purposes, rangoli is thought to bring good luck. 

This festival feature invites community participation and also creates a cultural exhibit of sort.

Stage Programs

Dance and music are mainstay in any Diwali celebrations. The sights and sounds of South Asian culture will be fully on display.

Dances from different regions will be featured: Giddha, Bhangra, Bharata Natyam, Raas, Bollywood, etc.
